Awareness (2023)

Awareness taps into a, by now, well worn, supernatural/superhero trope but does so with enough intimacy and depth, to make it inherently watchable. There's the predictable superhero, action formula you would expect, with something of an opaque, good guy bad guy set up. What really sets this production apart however, is the depth of characterisation. You get a real sense of the relationship between the key character and his adoptive father, that lifts this film above many of its emotionally shallower, counterparts.
