When a traveller arrives in a small town he discovers that a man has recently died and been buried in the cemetery near his lodgings. He decides to enquire a little more deeply into the cause of his death and discovers stories of the macabre and the sinister and also of the charming maiden "Accabadòra" who's kindly interventions upon those at death's door had led to her shunning and abandonment by her community.
