7.0**Overall : Day Shift is not without flaws but is a blast from start to finish with great action and fun characters.** Did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did! Day Shift brings a fresh new vibe to the vampire hunter genre, with most of the movie taking place in the bright sunny suburbs of LA. The action and fight sequences near John Wick-level choreography (which is not surprising since Chad Stahelski is involved) and the world built by Day Shift is intriguing and worth further exploration in future films. 4.0A cliche wrapped up in cliche. He's down on his luck, his wife's leaving him with his kid, he needs money....he hunts vampires in between cleaning pools... Day Shift is an anaemic vampire flick, that has teeth, in the same way as grandad has dentures.Unoriginal, slow, cheesy (in a bad a way) with moderately watchable action, which arrives late. In summary, a thoroughly mediocre action film with a sprinkling of vampires. Enough said.
