Luís A. Ferreira

Luís Ferreira was born in 2005 in Porto, Portugal, to Fernando Ferreira and Alda Ferreira. He later grew up alongside his sister, Luísa Ferreira. From the age of 10, he began pursuing photography, learning the foundations of image-making from his father, a self-taught nature photographer. Ferreira initially followed a Science and Technology academic path, with the intention of pursuing biology, an interest closely tied to his passion for nature photography. However, during a school break, he realized that his future lay not in science but in visual creation. He subsequently transitioned to a professional Multimedia program, where his academic performance consistently stood out, earning multiple distinctions and awards of excellence from both his institution and the Municipality of Vila do Conde. It was during this period that Ferreira discovered filmmaking. While on vacation, he produced his first short film using only a mobile phone, working for two hours with his sister as the sole collaborator. The experience marked a turning point, leading him to focus increasingly on cinema and film direction as his primary artistic pursuit. Ferreira completed his professional training with distinction, achieving the highest possible grade on his Final Professional Aptitude Project (PAP), a short film praised for his ability to manage multiple creative and technical departments simultaneously.
