Martin Carter Scholl

Martin Carter Scholl is a 21-year-old filmmaker and new media artist from Atlanta, Georgia, studying towards a double major in Interdisciplinary Art and Entertainment & Media Studies at the University of Georgia. Generally, Scholl’s work focuses on cultural and cognitive post-internet implications. Scholl is critical of the information age and post-truth society, where social media, pornography, and AI are products of a hungry, neoliberal attention economy. Allegorically, Scholl engages with elements of contemporary society, revealing and suggesting how these elements may perpetuate certain patriarchal tendencies within the individual and the public sphere, e.g., corporatism, control, misogyny, and chauvinism. Scholl commonly works in film, video, and new media.
