Us is based on a novel by David Nicholls. Connie (Saskia Reeves) and Douglas (Tom Hollander) are a middle aged married couple with a teenage son Albie who is about to go to university. Douglas is left in shock when Connie suddenly tells him that she wants a separation. He thought they had a steady marriage. Douglas had planned an extensive European trip for the whole family and Connie insists that this could be one last family holiday. For Douglas this could be an attempt to repair his marriage.
