Overview

Two hard-up strangers stumble across a haul of cocaine on a shipwrecked boat. After agreeing to sell it and split the cash, they become entangled with police, masked hitmen, and a sharp-suited gangster known as 'The Tailor'.

I started out wondering if I would be able to stick with this series. The violence seemed over the top, though I suppose no worse than your typical body count action thriller. But I ended up appreciating the show much more because of its originality and its refusal to be confined to or defined by its violent underpinnings. A few of the small plot twists were ingenious and gave the show more depth. Likewise, the portrayals of the horrible bad guys relented at times and showed them at their more human moments.
