Background
Eetha is a biopic of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, the Tamasha and Lavani performer honoured by the President of India in 1957 and 1990. It reunites director Laxman Utekar with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films after Chhaava (2025), co-produced with Karishma Sharma. Kshitij Patwardhan wrote it and Ajay-Atul composed the music. Filming ran from November 2025 to May 2026 around Bhor and Pune.
The film was first dated for 28 August 2026, and its teaser played in cinemas with Cocktail 2 in June. On 11 August Maddock Films moved it to 4 December 2026, away from Yash's Toxic. That date puts it in a crowded early-December window with Akshay Kumar's untitled Anees Bazmee comedy. No streaming partner has been announced.
