The story
In the 1980s village of Rangasthalam, Chitti Babu earns his living pumping water into the fields with a diesel motor. He is partially deaf, cheerful and quick-tempered, and spends his days chasing Ramalakshmi, a spirited local girl. For years the village has been run by its president, Phanindra Bhupathi, whose cooperative society traps farmers with crippling loans and seized land. When Chitti Babu's elder brother Kumar Babu returns from the Gulf and decides to challenge Bhupathi in the village election, the family is pulled into a dangerous fight.

Who it suits
A rooted village drama for viewers who like slow-burn stories about power, family and revenge, with romance and folk songs along the way. It runs close to three hours and includes brutal violence, so it is better suited to adults and older teens.
