El Inmortal: Gangs of Madrid (2022)

The Immortal, for me, is reminiscent of series like Gomorrah, with a Spanish, rather than an Italian flavour. Its equally downbeat and gritty, like its Italian counterpart but with even more of a working class vibe. There's a very strong, poor boy, makes good back story, with the key character rising socially, as he rises criminally, in the underworld, of Madrid. Money and celebrity, of a kind, can buy you almost everything. Yet, as this series demonstrates, it can't change who you are. This series offers up credible characterisations and quality narrative.
