Ramayana: Part 2 will release in cinemas on Diwali 2028, not Diwali 2027 as first announced. The new date appears at the end of Ramayana: Part 1, which opened on 5 November 2026, Bollywood Hungama and Hollywood Reporter India reported. No exact day has been given.
Producer Namit Malhotra told E! News that the team wants "a little more time" to present the grand finale at the scale of the first film, according to Hollywood Reporter India. Bollywood Hungama had reported the one-year delay on 23 October, citing a source; the makers have now confirmed it on screen.
Part 1 also has a mid-credits scene that introduces Sunny Deol as Hanuman. After the scene leaked online, T-Series released the song "Shree Hanuman Chalisa", led by Diljit Dosanjh with Mohit Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher.
What it means for viewers
If you are watching Part 1 in a cinema, stay through the credits for the Hanuman scene and the Part 2 date. The story continues in about two years. Part 1 is in cinemas now and will later come to JioHotstar as a pay-per-view rental.
