The story
Baggu is an unemployed young man who still lives with his middle-class family and is treated as a failure by almost everyone around him. When his girlfriend Rinku marries someone else because he has no job, he is left heartbroken and ashamed. Pushed by the setback and by his family's expectations, he throws himself into his studies with a new goal of becoming an IAS officer. Along the way he works for a local politician, Chhannu Bhaiya, and has to face a society that judges people by their jobs and their horoscopes.

Who it suits
Best for families and young viewers who like small-town stories about exam dreams and second chances, in the vein of 12th Fail. It carries a U/A 16+ rating and runs just under two hours, with light comedy and romance rather than violence.

Background
Aryabhatt Ka Zero began life as Boondi Raita, with a first poster released in 2020; shooting in Dehradun was interrupted by the COVID-19 lockdown and completed in 2021. Kamal Chandra directed it from a screenplay by Tariq Mohammad, and it was produced by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S. Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal and Sheo Balak Singh under Newtech Media Entertainment, Radhika G Films and Sunil Sihag Gora Films with A2R Films. Manan Bhardwaj composed the songs, released on T-Series. Himansh Kohli has described it as his comeback feature and a break from his Yaariyan image.
The film was released in cinemas on 7 August 2026, with a running time of 114 minutes. Reviews were mixed; the Free Press Journal gave it 2.5 out of 5 and called it best as a family watch. It has since left cinemas, and JioHotstar is listed as its streaming partner.
