The story
In the coastal village of Chellanam, Avarachan is a loud, heavy-drinking widower whose antics keep landing his two grown sons, Jaison and Jaimon, in trouble. After one scandal too many sparks a local feud, he is packed off to hide at his elder sister's house in the hills of north Kerala. Away from his usual haunts, and with his family's patience exhausted, Avarachan has to face what he has put his sons through and try to make amends.
Spoiler-free: only the set-up.
Who it suits
Suited to viewers who enjoy warm, old-fashioned Malayalam family comedies. Netflix rates it U/A 16+; drinking and brawls drive much of the humour, and it runs a little over two hours.
