The story
Picking up from Baahubali: The Beginning, Kattappa continues his account of the past of the kingdom of Mahishmati. Rajmata Sivagami names Amarendra Baahubali heir to the throne and makes her own son, Bhallaladeva, commander-in-chief. Sent to tour the kingdom in disguise with Kattappa, Amarendra meets Devasena, a warrior princess of the neighbouring kingdom of Kuntala, and falls for her. Bhallaladeva also wants Devasena for himself, and the rivalry between the two princes over the throne and her hand grows deeper.
