The story
Champak Chaturvedi runs a theatre troupe whose two actors, Bunty and Babla, squabble constantly over who gets to play the hero. Just as the group leaves for a 30-show contract in Britain, their heroine drops out. In London, Champak promises the hero's role to whoever finds a new leading lady. While Bunty and Babla search the city, their suitcase is swapped with one belonging to a drug smuggler's men, and they find a woman named Munni who joins the troupe.

Who it suits
A long comedy with a murder-mystery second half, best for viewers who enjoy Akshay Kumar, Govinda and Paresh Rawal's comic timing. It runs over two and a half hours and includes a suicide attempt, a shooting and a body, all played mostly for comedy.

Background
Bhagam Bhag was directed by Priyadarshan from a script by Neeraj Vora and produced by Sunil Shetty and Dhilin Mehta. It borrows sub-plots from Siddique–Lal's Malayalam film Mannar Mathai Speaking, which itself drew on Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (1958). Pritam composed the songs and Salim–Sulaiman the background score. It was later remade in Telugu as Brahmanandam Drama Company (2008).
The film opened in cinemas on 22 December 2006, over Christmas. Wikipedia lists a gross of ₹67.82 crore against a budget of ₹32 crore, making it the ninth-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Reviews were mixed: The Times of India and Bollywood Hungama gave it 3 out of 5, Rediff 2 out of 5 and DNA 0.5 out of 5.
In November 2024 it was reported that Akshay Kumar had acquired the rights from Shemaroo and was developing Bhagam Bhag 2.
