The story
Over a single night in Delhi, Ajay, a corrupt police officer played by Manoj Bajpayee, is planning a profitable night for himself when he is drawn into the case of a young woman who has been thrown from a moving car and badly injured. As he tries to find out who she is, the investigation pulls him into a far bigger conspiracy, and he finds himself torn between personal gain and doing what he believes is right.

Netflix first announced the film in February 2026 as Ghooskhor Pandat. It was renamed Gajab Raat before release. It is produced by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Ritesh Shah, and goes straight to streaming with no theatrical run.
Background
The original title drew objections on social media from users, politicians and organisations who called it casteist, leading to police complaints and legal petitions; the makers told the court the title would be changed. The film reunites Manoj Bajpayee with Neeraj Pandey, whose banner Friday Storytellers is producing it. Ritesh Shah, whose writing credits include Kahaani, Pink, Airlift and Raid, is directing. According to National Herald, a police officer weighs personal gain against doing what he believes is right, setting off a chain of events over one night. Netflix released the trailer on 15 October 2026.
