The story
The makers describe *Jhaad Phoonk*, which means exorcism, as a supernatural thriller set in a world where fear, superstition and unexplained happenings drive the story. Padmini Kolhapure plays a woman named Kamini, and Yashpal Sharma's character is described as layered and hard to read. Beyond that, the plot has not been officially laid out; the trailers centre on a haunted place that hides secrets and the rituals people turn to when something they cannot explain takes hold.
Spoiler-free: only the set-up.
Who it suits
For viewers who like small-scale Hindi horror built on folk belief and exorcism. No certificate or platform age rating could be confirmed; expect frightening scenes, so it is not for young children.

Background
Jhaad Phoonk was directed by Rajan Ramgopal Verma and produced by Shailesh Parihaar, with Vrunda Brahmbhatt as co-producer, and is presented by Niiv Entertainment India. It marks television actor Sumbul Touqeer's return to a film lead; she told the Hindustan Times in June 2025 that she had manifested the role. Padmini Kolhapure, Yashpal Sharma, Harsh Rajput and Apratim Singh co-star.
The first look and teaser came out in August 2025, when the film was announced for a winter 2025 theatrical release; that plan was later dropped. On 30 October 2026 the makers announced that it was streaming on JioHotstar and released a new trailer. In an interview published on 1 November, Padmini Kolhapure said she might not watch the finished film herself because the narration had scared her.
