The story
Jeeva is a talented, playful young Gaana singer who wants to take his street-rooted music beyond the neighbourhood and win wider recognition. Earlier generations of his family had musical dreams of their own that were cut short, and Jeeva faces obstacles from outside as well as his own flaws. With his best friend Harshath beside him, the story moves between old Madras and the present day, looking at how chances for independent musicians have changed.

Background
Meesaya Murukku 2 is a spiritual successor to Meesaya Murukku (2017). Adhi of Hiphop Tamizha announced it at a concert in Malaysia in January 2026, though filming had quietly begun in August 2025; he directs, plays the lead and composes the music. Khushbu Sundar and A. C. S. Arun Kumar produce under Avni Movies and Benzz Media, with Saregama holding the audio rights. Ketika Sharma makes her Tamil debut.
The film opened in theatres on 25 September 2026 to mixed reviews and, per Wikipedia, grossed over Rs 43 crore worldwide. Sony LIV's own promo says it streams from 6 November. FilmiBeat reported versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, but Sony LIV's promo does not list languages, so Hindi audio is unknown until the platform confirms it.
