The story
Raja Awasthi brings his new wife Mohini home to his large, noisy family in Meerut, just as an aunt's wedding is under way. Raja's younger brother Bantu has been watching Mohini closely and is sure something is wrong: strange accidents seem to follow her, and he catches her performing a secret puja. With a priest's help he locks her in a room tied with sacred threads and tells the whole family that their new bhabhi is a daayan.

Background
Nayyi Navelli is a horror comedy written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma and directed by Balaji Mohan, a Tamil filmmaker making his Hindi debut. Aanand L. Rai's Colour Yellow Productions and Amazon MGM Studios produced it, with music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Kriti Sanon was first reported for the lead, but by October 2025 Yami Gautam had the role.
The film opened in Indian cinemas on 16 October 2026, the same Dussehra weekend as Prahaar and the Hindi version of Jailer 2. The CBFC passed it U/A 16+. Reviews were largely negative. Bollywood Hungama lists an India nett of about ₹22 crore after ten days. Amazon MGM Studios co-produced it, but no streaming platform or date had been officially announced by 26 October 2026.
