Background
The Family Man was created, produced and directed by Raj & DK, who wrote it with Suman Kumar and Tusshar Seyth; the makers have said the plots are drawn from news headlines. Season 1 was shown at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles in July 2019 and premiered on Prime Video on 20 September 2019. Amazon later said it had become its most watched original in India.
Season 2, which added Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the antagonist Raji, was delayed from February 2021 and released on 4 June 2021; its Tamil and Telugu dubs followed in August 2021. The season drew protests from Tamil Nadu politicians over its portrayal of a Sri Lankan Tamil rebel group. Season 3, set in North-East India with Jaideep Ahlawat joining the cast, premiered on 21 November 2025. Wikipedia credits the series with eleven Filmfare OTT Awards and five Asian Academy Creative Awards.
