Background
The film adapts Suzanne Collins's 2025 novel Sunrise on the Reaping and is the sixth film in the series. It is a sequel to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) and a prequel to The Hunger Games (2012). Lionsgate greenlit it in June 2024, the same day the book was announced. Francis Lawrence directs from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, and Color Force produces. Joseph Zada plays Haymitch, with Ralph Fiennes as President Snow. Filming took place in Spain and Germany from July to November 2025. James Newton Howard returns as composer.
Lionsgate releases it in theatres and IMAX on 20 November 2026. No Indian distributor or India-specific date has been announced, so the India date is expected. No Hindi dub has been announced or reported, so Hindi audio is unknown.
