Best Hindi movies for kids to stream in India
Hindi movies for kids to stream in India, split into animated and live-action picks, with certificates, runtimes and notes on scenes that may upset kids.

This list is for parents looking for Hindi films that children can actually enjoy, not just sit through. It covers films made for kids, plus a few family favourites that are rated U or gentle enough for younger viewers. We split it into animated films, which suit the youngest, and live-action picks for primary and older children.
Every pick has a Hindi audio track, either original or an official dub, and each was checked on the platform's Indian app or website; the check date is on each title page. Within each group, films are ranked by how easily they suit younger children, so the shortest and gentlest come first and longer films with tougher scenes come later. Each note flags anything that could upset a child, such as a parent's death or fights.
On certificates: U means suitable for all ages. Where our title page lists no CBFC certificate, we say so and give the platform's own rating if one is shown.
For more ideas, see family movies for all ages, feel-good films or the Netflix guide.
Animated
- 1
Bal Ganesh
YouTube (free, Shemaroo's Bal Ganesh channel)105 min
For preschoolers and early primary kids, this cartoon about young Ganesh and his mouse friend Mooshak is about as easy a start as Hindi animation offers. It runs 105 minutes, arrives as bite-sized episodes packed with songs, and costs nothing on Shemaroo's channel. No certificate is listed on our title page. The beheading story and demon fights appear, but in soft cartoon style.
- 2
Hanuman
YouTube (free, Silvertoons channel)89 min
At 89 minutes, this is the shortest film on the list, which makes it handy for small children with short attention spans. Baby Hanuman grabbing at the sun is the sort of scene kids ask to rewatch, and Mukesh Khanna's narration keeps the Ramayana easy to follow. Our title page lists no certificate; expect demon battles and Lanka on fire near the end.
- 3
The Lion King
JioHotstar (choose the 2019 version, with Hindi audio)CBFC U118 min
This is the one Hollywood film here, included because it is rated U and its Hindi dub makes the familiar songs and savanna story easy for Indian kids to enjoy. It runs 118 minutes. Parents should know that Simba loses his father early on and there are fights between animals, so sit with very young viewers through those scenes.
Live action
- 4
Stanley Ka Dabba
YouTube (free, Star Studios Premiere channel)96 min
Few Hindi films feel this much like an actual school day: around 170 real children appear, and the story turns on something as ordinary as a lunchbox. At 96 minutes it suits a weeknight, and it is free to stream. No certificate is listed on our title page. The film quietly raises child labour and trouble at home, so older kids may want to talk afterwards.
- 5
Chillar Party
Prime Video127 min
Kids who love dogs and gang-of-friends stories will be on the side of these colony boys from the first cricket match. It won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film, and Prime Video shows it as U, though our title page lists no CBFC certificate. At 127 minutes it is a comfortable length for primary schoolers, built on comedy rather than danger.
- 6
I Am Kalam
Prime Video87 min
A dhaba boy in Rajasthan who renames himself after President Kalam gives children an easy way into conversations about school and fairness. It runs just 87 minutes, and Prime Video lists it as U, although no CBFC certificate is on our title page. The young lead won a National Film Award for Best Child Artist, and the tone stays warm throughout.
- 7
Koi... Mil Gaya
YouTube (free, Ultra Bollywood channel)CBFC U157 min
An alien called up by an old computer, a group of school friends and a lot of songs make this the most kid-centred Bollywood blockbuster on the list. It is rated U and runs 157 minutes, so plan for a long evening or a pause. The hero is bullied in a few scenes, which can upset sensitive children.
- 8
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
NetflixCBFC U112 min
Children who dream of flying, especially girls, tend to connect with this true story of a Lucknow girl who becomes an Air Force pilot. It is rated U, runs 112 minutes and keeps its Kargil war scenes short. The heart of the film is a father who backs his daughter when others doubt her, which gives families plenty to discuss.
- 9
Dangal
NetflixCBFC U161 min
Sporty kids get wrestling bouts to cheer for, and parents get a real story about the Phogat sisters training in a Haryana village. It is rated U and runs 161 minutes. The father here is very strict, and some training scenes are hard to watch, so it suits children from about eight upwards who can follow a longer film.
- 10
Iqbal
Prime Video (free to watch)132 min
Young cricket fans will root for a deaf village teenager bowling to buffaloes in the fields, and the film keeps things gentle throughout. It runs 132 minutes and Prime Video India shows it as free to watch. No certificate is listed on our title page; the coach drinks and the father is harsh, but nothing on screen is graphic.
- 11
Toolsidas Junior
Netflix
Snooker is an unusual sport for a children's film, and that is part of the appeal: a young boy takes up the cue to win back his father's pride. Netflix rates it U/A 7+, and no CBFC certificate or runtime is listed on our title page. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and suits school-age kids.
- 12
Chak De! India
NetflixCBFC U149 min
Rated U and 149 minutes long, this hockey drama works best for older children who can follow a team of sixteen players and their prickly coach. Kids will remember the matches and the title song; parents can talk about teamwork across states. There is a restaurant brawl, some harassment and taunts aimed at the coach's religion.
- 13
Mr. India
Prime Video (free with ads)179 min
An invisible hero protecting a house full of orphans from a cartoonish villain is pure childhood fun, and it streams free with ads. It is listed last because it runs 179 minutes, has no certificate on our title page, and includes bomb attacks and a scene where a child dies. Watch it with children old enough to handle that moment.
