The story
Arun, a barrister's son who sees himself as the leader of the male students, is stung when he comes second in his college's terminal exams. The student who beats him is Lily Fernandes, the quiet daughter of a nurse at a private nursing home. Arun sets out to cut Lily down to size, but she bears his and his friends' taunts without holding a grudge. Over time the two begin to see each other's better qualities, and weekend outings together turn rivalry into love.
Spoiler-free: only the set-up.
Who it suits
A soft, song-led college romance with no violence that suits viewers who enjoy older Hindi melodramas. Its story grows sad and emotional, so expect a tear-jerker rather than a light romance.
