The story
Raj and Simran are young British Indians living in London. Simran's strict, traditional father Baldev promised her as a child to Kuljeet, the son of a friend in Punjab, a man she has never met. Before the wedding she is allowed a backpacking trip across Europe with her friends, where she keeps running into the carefree Raj. After the two miss a train and have to travel on alone, they slowly fall in love. When Simran's family moves to Punjab for the wedding, Raj follows, set on winning over her family rather than eloping.
