The story

His former teammate Rubén Cervantes, now owner of the struggling APXGP team, asks him to return as the team's second driver, because without a win in the remaining races his investors will sell. Background
F1 was filmed in collaboration with the FIA, motorsport's governing body. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is one of its producers, alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski and Pitt. Filming began at Silverstone around the 2023 British Grand Prix and continued at Grand Prix weekends through the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Apple Studios produced the film, and Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures distributed it.
After a premiere in New York on 16 June 2025, it reached cinemas later that month. It grossed $634.1 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing motor-racing film, Apple's biggest film and the biggest of Brad Pitt's career. At the 98th Academy Awards it was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture, and won Best Sound. It began streaming on Apple TV on 12 December 2025.
