The story
Hardik has lost his job and Luv has been dumped, so the two flatmates tag along with their friend Bunny on a trip to Goa. Luv falls for Luna, who invites them to a rave thrown by the Russian mafia on a remote island, where a new and very expensive drug is being handed out. The next morning the friends find that most of the partygoers have turned into zombies. Joined by Luna and a Russian gangster named Boris, they must survive the island and find a way off it.

Who it suits
An adult stoner comedy with zombies, aimed at viewers who like irreverent dialogue more than real frights. It is rated A for drug use, strong language and gory violence, and runs under two hours.

Background
Go Goa Gone is an original screenplay by Raj & DK and Sita Menon, with dialogue by Kunal Khemu, and is widely described as India's first zombie comedy. It was produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan's Illuminati Films with Eros International, which distributed it, and Sachin–Jigar composed the music. About a third of the film was shot in Mauritius, with further scenes in Goa and Mumbai. Khan, who plays Boris, prepared by reading Max Brooks's The Zombie Survival Guide.
The film opened in cinemas on 10 May 2013 and, according to Wikipedia, earned ₹37.82 crore worldwide against a budget of about ₹19 crore. Reviews were mixed: Bollywood Hungama gave it 3.5 out of 5 and Outlook 3, while Hindustan Times and The Indian Express each gave 2.5. It was nominated for the Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival. A sequel, Go Goa Gone 2, was announced in 2018 but has not been released.
