The story
Kanakaraju's life takes a strange turn one night at a local bar, when an old container holding the remains of a dead Korean man is disturbed and the spirit takes hold of him. From then on, whenever someone says the word 'Korea', the possession kicks in and Kanakaraju is pulled into chaos. The restless spirit has unfinished business, and Kanakaraju finds himself caught between his own mind and the stranger inside it, trying to learn how the man died.

Background
Korean Kanakaraju was written and directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by First Frame Entertainments with UV Creations; Thaman S composed the music. It stars Varun Tej with Ritika Nayak and comedian Satya, and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi and Y. Rajeev Reddy produced it. Sri Venkateswara Creations distributed it in the Nizam and Vizag territories. On Netflix it carries Hindi and Telugu audio-description tracks as well as English and Hindi subtitles, and is rated U/A 16+.
The film opened in cinemas on 7 August 2026 in Telugu, and Wikipedia records a gross of about ₹40 crore. It began streaming on Netflix in September 2026 in Telugu with Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam dubs.
