The story
Bhavataran can read a person's past or future simply by touching their hand. When he foresees the death of Madhuri, his first love, he sets out to find the Golok Pushpa, a mystical flower he believes can save her. The search leads him into the dense forests of Assam and to the secluded Kauriburi temple, where an ancient curse, blood sacrifice and tribal folklore await, and where the temple's high priestess, the Boro Deori, holds power.

Background
The series is a hoichoi original, released in Bengali as Kauriburir Mandir. Sayantan Ghosal directs from a story by Avik Sarkar, with screenplay and dialogue by Shantanu Mitra Neogi; Follow Focus produces. Jeetu Kamal plays Bhavataran, Solanki Roy plays Madhuri and Paoli Dam the high priestess, with Saswata Chatterjee as a tantric.
It is the first new title under the multi-year Netflix and hoichoi partnership announced on 22 October 2026, under which hoichoi series arrive on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu the same day as their Bengali debut. Netflix's announcement names it The Cursed Temple of Kauriburi and gives a 6 November premiere; a Netflix India promo calls it Kauriburi: The Cursed Temple. The number of episodes has not been announced, and no Netflix title page could be found on 1 November.
