With his career gone and his attacker walking free, Matt turns to Caitlyn Corr, a scientist working on an experimental treatment that rebuilds damaged skin. Background
Clayface is based on the Batman villain from DC Comics and is the third film in the new DC Universe, after Superman (2025) and Supergirl (2026). Mike Flanagan pitched it and wrote the story; he co-wrote the screenplay with Hossein Amini, and James Watkins directed. DC Studios produced it, with Matt Reeves among the producers, and Warner Bros. Pictures released it.
It was first set for 11 September 2026 and moved to 23 October to land closer to Halloween. In India, the CBFC passed it A on 19 October after cutting about 24 seconds of nudity and two face-smashing shots, and Warner Bros. released it on 23 October 2026 in English and Hindi, with paid previews the night before. Its worldwide opening was about $43 million. No Indian streaming date had been announced.
