This list is for anyone looking for a Hindi comedy to stream at home in India, from the confusion comedies of the 1970s to 2000s to newer, gentler films about families, marriage and money. Every pick has a Hindi audio track, and we checked each one on the platform's Indian app or site; the check date is on each title page. All fifteen were made in Hindi. Several cost nothing: Hera Pheri, Hungama and Piku are on official YouTube channels, and Prime Video lists five more as free.

We ranked the picks by how reliably they get laughs and how easy they are to start, so the most quoted films lead each group. The first group is broad, fast comedy built on schemes and mix-ups; the second is newer films where the humour sits alongside a story.

On certificates: Badhaai Ho, Laapataa Ladies, Piku, Lootcase and Newton are U/A, and the older titles have no certificate on file, so check each note for threats, drinking or language.
